Beautiful decor and wooden beams, good facilities nearby in village. Area is very Greek, little tourism, but within easy driving distance of activities including swimming, beach, and all you could want. |

15 mins. drive from long beach and swimming, small town with many tavernas. Local village has two good tavernas, small arts cafe bar (excellent breakfasts and great view), traditional grocer shop, mini market, pharmacy, post office, bread shop, payphone. Quiet lifestyle here but more action within driving reach if you want it. There are gorges, mountains, monasteries, caves to explore. This area of Crete is known as the Green Valley: lush and full of plants despite the hot climate. Good walking, hiking, swimming and birdwatching. |
